第70回北米比較国際教育学会（CIES）が開催されました

2026年3月28日（土）から4月1日（水）にかけて、米国サンフランシスコにて、Comparative and International Education Society（CIES）の第70回年次総会が開催されました。本大会は同学会の70周年にあたる節目の会合であり、世界各国から研究者や実務家が参加しました。また、本大会では、早稲田大学・黒田一雄教授がCIES President-Elect（2025–2026）を務めました。

CIESは、比較教育学・国際教育学分野における世界最大の学術団体であり、125か国以上から約4,000人が参加しています。研究者に加え、国際機関や政府関係者、教育実務者など、多様な関係者が参加している点が特徴です。

本大会のテーマは “Re-examining Education and Peace in a Divided World” でした。世界的に分断や対立が深まる中で、教育が平和や社会の結束にどのように貢献できるのかを改めて考えることが目的とされました。大会は、個別発表に加えて、ワークショップやネットワーキングなど多様な形式で構成されました。特に、テーマに関連したPresidential Invited Symposiaが8件開催され、教育と平和の関係について多角的な議論が行われました。また、Kneller Lectureでは、香港大学・Mark Bray教授が講演を行い、教育と平和の関係について重要な示唆が提示されました。

小川ゼミからは、4名の修了生（准教授、特命助教、研究員）と3名の博士後期課程学生が一般口頭発表を行い、さらに1名の博士後期課程学生がワークショップを実施しました。本大会における小川ゼミ（修了生含む）からの発表者と発表タイトルは、以下の通りです（アルファベット順）。
